Conductor Licence Download Online: Get Your e-Conductor Licence (2026)
You can download your conductor licence online from the Parivahan portal after your application is approved, using your application number to print the e-conductor licence. The download is done through the Sarathi portal’s print section for your state, and the printed copy works as your licence until the physical card arrives.
What Is the e-Conductor Licence
A conductor licence authorises you to work as a bus or stage-carriage conductor in India. It is issued by the state transport department after you apply, pass the required checks, and get approval. Once approved, the licence exists in the government’s digital records, and the portal lets you download and print it yourself instead of waiting for the physical card to reach you by post.
This guide is strictly about the download and print step. If you have not applied yet, or your licence is due for renewal, see our conductor licence application and renewal guide first.
Before You Download: Check Your Application Is Approved
You can only download the conductor licence after the RTO approves your application. If the status is still under processing or pending scrutiny, the download option will not show your licence yet.
- Note down your application number from the acknowledgement receipt you received when you applied.
- If you have not checked recently, track the stage first so you know it is approved and ready.
- Keep your date of birth handy, the portal asks for it alongside the application number on most state pages.

Save the PDF on your phone as well, so you always have a digital copy with you.
Reprinting Your Conductor Licence
If you lose the printout or the original PDF, you can repeat the same steps any time. The portal lets you reprint the licence using the same application number, as long as the licence is still valid. There is no limit on reprints, and reprinting is free.
What If the Download Fails
If the page errors out or shows a blank licence:
- Try a different browser, and make sure pop-up blockers are off, since the licence opens in a new window or PDF viewer.
- Check that your application is actually approved; a pending application will not generate a licence to download.
- If the details on the downloaded licence are wrong (name spelling, address), do not just reprint. Get the correction done at the RTO first, because every reprint will carry the same error.
- As a backup, check whether your licence reflects in the mParivahan app or DigiLocker under your issued documents.
Conductor Licence vs Driving Licence Download
These are separate licences with separate download paths, so do not mix them up:
- Conductor licence download (this page): for bus conductors, via the conductor licence service on Sarathi in issuing states, using the conductor licence application number.
- Driving licence download: for drivers, through the regular DL services. For DL-related status and checks, see our driving licence check guide.
If your work involves vehicles rather than conducting, the Vahan application status page covers vehicle-side application tracking.
How Long After Approval Can You Download
In most cases the download option appears within a day or two of approval showing on the portal. If your application shows approved but the download section still does not list your licence after a few days, wait a little longer for the records to sync, then contact the RTO where you applied, quoting your application number.
Keep Your Conductor Licence Valid
- Note the validity period printed on the licence; conductor licences are typically issued for a fixed term and need renewal before expiry.
- Renew in time. Driving or conducting on an expired licence can lead to penalties.
- If you change your address, update it on the licence through the RTO so the records stay current.
- Keep both the physical card (when it arrives) and a PDF copy, so you are covered if one is lost.
How can I download my conductor licence online?
After approval, go to sarathi.parivahan.gov.in, select your state, open the conductor licence print or download section, enter your application number and date of birth, and print the licence as a PDF.
What do I need to download my e-conductor licence?
Your application number from the acknowledgement receipt and your date of birth. The application must show as approved before the download works.
My conductor licence application is still pending. Can I download it?
No. The download only works after the RTO approves the application. Track the status and wait for approval first.
Is the downloaded e-conductor licence valid?
The printout serves as your licence until the physical card arrives, and keeping a digital PDF copy is good practice. For enforcement purposes, carry the printout along with a photo ID until you receive the card.
Can I reprint my conductor licence if I lose the printout?
Yes. Repeat the same download steps with your application number any time while the licence is valid. Reprinting is free.
The downloaded licence has a spelling mistake in my name. What should I do?
Do not rely on reprints; every reprint will show the same error. Apply for a correction at the RTO with your supporting documents, then download the corrected licence after approval.
